Our Portfolio of Cultural Frameworks

Over the course of my journey, I have been privileged to develop and contribute to a range of cultural frameworks and models of practice, each designed to strengthen wellbeing and support whānau. Rooted in Te Ao Māori, these frameworks reflect a balance between spiritual, practical, and expression or what we call kauae runga, kauae raro, and kauae kōrero.

Each framework tells a story of partnership, learning, and innovation, whether through my work with Emerge Aotearoa, Te Taumata o Ngāti Whakaue, or within Te Ohomauri Innovations. Together, they demonstrate how intentional design, grounded in culture, can awaken mauri, nurture mana, and create lasting pathways for wellbeing.

Explore these frameworks to see the depth of te ao Māori approaches in action and how they can inspire and guide transformative practice.

Emerge Aotearoa – Values in Practice Model

This model of practice was developed during my time with Emerge Aotearoa to help staff deepen their understanding of the organisation’s values and bring them into daily practice. It provides a practical guide for support workers, linking values to real-life scenarios, and strengthening duty of care through culturally grounded, values-based approaches.
