The TOI WāHine Framework is a whakapapa-based way of understanding wellbeing as a way of being…..

Not something to fix.

Rooted in the movements of Hinetītama and the cycles of Te Kore, Te Pō, and Te Ao Mārama, it supports wāhine to recognise where they are, understand what is unfolding, and move forward with clarity.

At the centre are the eight TOI pathways guiding how we return to balance across wairua, hinengaro, tinana, and whānau.

Our Foundations

The framework is held by three guiding principles:

Kauae Runga

Connection to wairua, atua, and ancestral knowledge

Kauae Raro

Grounded practice through the body, rhythm, and daily life

Kauae Kōrero

Expression through reflection, story, and lived experience

Together, these support wāhine to move with awareness, embodiment, and truth.

The TOI Pathways

The eight TOI are pathways to wellbeing and a way of being:

Wairua

Mauri

Ngākau

Mātāpono

Whānau

Tinana

Wāhine / Ruahine

Toiora

They are not steps to complete, but ways to return to depending on what is needed in the moment.

Why this matters

When wāhine understand their phase and respond with intention, balance begins to restore naturally.

This strengthens not only the individual, but whānau, hapū, and iwi.

A living practice

TOI WāHine is a living framework.

It continues to grow through practice, reflection, and the lived experiences of wāhine guided by our kuia, our kōrero tuku iho, and the wisdom already within.
